do you remember what it was like?

i do

i’d swap eyes with you for a moment if i could

so you could see it again

how the earth shakes beneath our dancing feet

how the sky melts like bubble gum flavoured ice cream

and pours into our open palms like liquid silk

flying is the sweetest sensation

and in outer space the stars still show the way

past mars and jupiter and pretty blue neptune

out to where pluto will always be a planet

if the scientists don’t want it anymore

i will take it as my own

i would share it with you if I could

but the lack of oxygen would never allow you to live there

besides you would freeze

you don’t know how to keep warm on Pluto
