My preferred medium and recent interest is photography. While I like to paint, I take photography more seriously. I find something that may seem interesting to me or unusual and take a picture of it. It's like having a photographic memory of something that I think is beautiful.

If people get to know me they understand that I can be random at times, especially when it comes to my work. One picture could be of a tree, while another could be of a human foot. This can sometimes make others interested because they never know what to expect. My inspiration is just to find something that excites me. If I think that I should take a picture of it, I do not "second guess" myself. My inspiration is basically to get a reaction out of something I see; not force a reaction out of something I make.

If there is one mentor that has given me guidance in my work, it is my grandma. She has always encouraged me to find a release and while I tried to paint like her, and imagine some of the things she painted, I was never truly inspired. She taught me that I didn't have to create something but that there were other options.

If someone were to be my "guide-on-the-side" I would expect them to understand me so that they could keep an open mind to my art, so that I feel that they can assess it properly.

My biggest challenges when I work are: patience, getting those emotions from my work, and the confidence to show it.
