Beauty comes in all shapes and forms. In life, it's our job to find it. A passion for nature and beauty is what stirs me to create. In turn, I hope to evoke life's loveliness through the simple charm of my artwork. I want to make people think, and to make them dream. Now, at eighteen, I'm on that path. One day the world will see beauty through my eyes. Portraits have been my focus ever since I discovered my love for them. There's something about the expression in a human face that captures more meaning and depth than a landscape ever could. Instead of using scenery in my paintings, I bring in nature through a woman's hair, or the subtle organic tones against the wood canvas. Painting on wood gives me the freedom to use negative space as a natural backdrop. The contrast between my painting and the pale grain of the wood gives balance to the piece. The knots and lines inspire me to convey the same natural flow within my art. My work finds balance between strange and beautiful, raw and polished, simple and complex, soft and bold, innocent and provocative. Much like my art, life is a balancing act. Between two extremes is where we find beauty.

Interest and Inspiration; The work of artists such as Audrey Kawasaki, Camilla d'Errico, Sylvia Ji, and the brilliant Claude Monet, have been true inspirations for me through the progression of my work. Bon Iver, Arcade Fire, and Beirut play on the soundtrack of my life. Lullabies for Little Criminals by Heather O'Neill, A Million Little Pieces by James Frey, and all of Ellen Hopkins novels have won my heart and persuade me to create as they do. Beyond the well published, I find great solace in the creativity of others in the world around me. Graffiti, anatomy, fashion, tattoos, architecture, and music are all stunning parts of life that I have the greatest admiration for. Growing up in a place full of such talent and passion has been wonderful.
