Rusty roof on the old farm store
Spider wrapping the last can on the shelves
Silky bow almost tied for Christmas
Great-great grandchild kisses

Grasshoppers dance on green wheat
Chickens dive for grasshopper meat
Your child mind leaps
If only the kitchen floor could steady weary feet
You’d live some more

Endless prairie where the rivers flow
Into endless sky
